Toshiba Satellite A665D-S6059 is a great computer for someone that is looking for a decently powerful notebook but wants to remain in the sub-$1000 range. It has a quadcore AMD Phenom II CPU. Sadly it is a lower clock speed (1.6 Ghz) and it lacks L3 cache. It may struggle in single threaded applications compared to the Intel line up, but the difference in performance is hardly noticeable to the average user. In fact, many consumer perfectly happy with the CPU thus far. So my recomendation is start having a Toshiba Satellite A665D-S6059, and start enjoying every convenience it offers.
