Go anywhere you want and play your games anytime you need to. Take it with Dell Alienware AM11X-826CSB gaming laptop. This laptop does not only come at 11.6 inch with 4.5 pounds weight, but also it will get you entertained high to the top with every single feature it offers.

Designed to be an ultraportable laptop, which means to be brought everywhere in a high frequency, Alienware AM11X-826CSB is covered in a solid felt plastic, making it seem strong enough to resist any bumps or scratch while on the go. In its design, Alienware AM11X-826CSB has an impressive keyboard and touchpad. The keys of the keyboard are backlit, making it easier to see while in a dark room. With each key glossy coated, you won’t fall slipped during typing. But, be careful with their narrower shape which gives the bigger chance to mistakenly press a wrong key. The keyboard comes along with a touchpad which is large enough for a laptop of the Alienware AM11X-826CSB’s size. Powered by Synaptics, the touchpad is multi-touch enabled. You have to activate some option before enjoying the full feature of the touchpad.

Alienware AM11X-826CSB Pros

You may a bit doubt it that a laptop as small as 11.6 inch can play games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 or Far Cry 2. But, that’s Alienware AM11X. This laptop is supported by 1.3GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 CPU, 4GB RAM, and 500GB 7200RPM HDD. The power of Alienware AM11X for multimedia activities especially for the gaming comes mainly from double switchable discrete and integrated GPUs in it. To switch between them, instead of the presence of Optimus technology, you can do it manually by pressing Fn+F6.

At playing those games above, Alienware AM11X-826CSB can reach a score of 6.338 in some tests. If compared with the average of the class such as Acer Aspire 5740G or Sony Vaio Z, Alienware AM11X-826CSB appears better at about 100 points. Completing its nature of portability, Alienware AM11X-826CSB is supported by battery which can last up to 8 hours. You can play your favorite games anywhere away from home or office without worry of running out power suddenly. You need no worry even if you don’t bring the battery charger with you.

Alienware AM11X-826CSB Cons

The only disadvantage of this notebook is that it doesn’t have a tray for disks, so you have to buy separately an external optical drive. The Targus DVD-ROM External USB 2.0 Drive is a recommended one because it’s all around amazing.

Another problem you will get if you want to play more modern games, like Battlefield bad company, is its very poor performance. But you can overlock the core 2 duo and use a game booster software to help frame rates a bit.

Alienware AM11X-826CSB Review Conclusion

Overall Alienware AM11X-826CSB is the smallest of the Alienwares, and as such has a small screen, but aside from that, everything is as I remember and expected from a “bleeding edge” technology computer. If you want to be able to play games, and have an ultraportable sized laptop, Alienware AM11X-826CSB is hard to beat.
